Be the Light Gala 2021

CATHEDRAL DISTRICT’S INAUGURAL GALA RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS. On Sunday, November 7, 2021 the Cathedral District hosted the inaugural Be The Light Gala to support the Cathedral District at the St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral. The fundraising event, Chaired by Board Member Tamara Baker, featured a live concert by a Jacksonville Symphony Ensemble performing with synchronized lights dancing across the Cathedral’s stained glass windows, a silent auction, and illuminated courtyards. “The song selection of the ensemble was terrific – a bit of everything, including methods of playing the instruments. … The acoustics were fabulous and so was the lighting,” said Sydney A. Gervin, III, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Cathedral District. “The event was spectacular! As a new board member, I am so excited to begin to help with all of the amazing efforts,” said Cantrece Jones, President of ADG Mark. The inaugural event raised over $45,000 for the Cathedral District, a 501c3 organization. Thank you to all the 250 attendees, board members, and St. John’s Cathedral volunteers and the board’s friends and family that made the event a success.
