Christmas 2021 Opening Night

Christmas in the Cathedral District hosted Opening Night, a free event for the city of Jacksonville to tour the historic churches, this past Saturday, November 27th. The evening began with the ringing of all five churches’ bells, the lighting of over 150 trees around the District, and music from all the church choirs.

All five historic churches opened their doors to the community with live bands and luminaria. The St. John’s Cathedral Bookstore hosted a one-day sale and an opportunity for children to write “Letters to Santa.” Go Tukin’ shuttled people across the District for free. Thank you to our volunteers, musicians, and our Church Partners for helping us making this evening a success, we can’t wait for 2022!
