Jacksonville native John T. Sefton is a shareholder with Rogers Towers Attorneys at Law. AV-Preeminent-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, John practices real estate and general corporate law. He regularly advises clients on business and real estate acquisitions, and represents a number of agri-business entities.
John has significant regulatory experience, including project finance, and is a former partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. As a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practices, he represented both U.S. companies doing business abroad and foreign clients who have acquired or disposed of U.S. enterprises. In addition, he has advised a number of closely held family businesses and corporations, and developed extensive experience in product distribution, environmental, Florida taxation, and creditors’ rights. He served as counsel for a number of financial institutions in Florida and has drafted documentation and compliance manuals for several Florida lenders.
Mr. Sefton earned his J.D. degree from Yale University and his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
