Msgr. Vincent J. Haut has served the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine and the Jacksonville community for more than 50 years as a parish priest and diocesan leader.
A graduate of St. Joseph Academy (at Seventh and Market Streets in Springfield) and Bishop Kenny High School, Msgr. Haut was ordained for the Diocese of St. Augustine in 1968 after earning a B.A. from St. Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester and attending the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. Following his ordination, Msgr. Haut served as a priest in five Northeast Florida parishes: Resurrection, Christ the King, and Blessed Trinity in Jacksonville; St. John the Baptist in Atlantic Beach and St. Catherine in Orange Park, interrupting his local ministry only long enough to earn a master’s degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of America in 1973.
Prior to his retirement in 2013, Msgr. Haut served in a variety of leadership positions in the diocese, including Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities, Dean, Vicar General, and member of the Diocesan College of Consultors, Priest Personnel Committee, and Presbyteral Council. He currently serves on the boards of L’Arche Jacksonville, the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of St. Augustine, and joined the board of Cathedral District-Jax in 2019.
